How to Book Easyjet Flights with Amex Points
A common question is whether there are any opportunities to use points, particularly Amex membership reward points, for easyJet flights.
The short answer is that yes, you can use American Express Membership Rewards points for easyJet flights (booking via Emirates Skywards) – however, whether you should is another question. One key bit of information here is the potential value of Amex points.
How can redeem American Express points for Easyjet flights?
You can use your American Express Membership Rewards points to book Easyjet flights, via Emirates Skywards. See our other posts if you’re new to this and you’re wondering how Amex points work and what they are.
Amex points can’t be transferred directly to easyJet. Instead, you need to go via Emirates Skywards. The process looks like this:
1) Set up an Emirates Skywards account (if you don’t already have one!)
2) Use your Emirates account number to link your Emirates Skywards account to your American Express points account (under ‘Travel’ in the Rewards section).
3) Transfer your Amex points to Emirates at a 1:1 ratio.
4) Log into your Emirates Skywards account and book your flight via the partner airline booking page.

Is booking easyJet flights with Amex points worth it?
This is a question which has become more interesting… Back in 2021 when we originally published this article, the answer was ‘absolutely not’. A quick analysis of the value per point showed that then you could expect to get somewhere between 0.25 and 0.3p per points (for comparison you’d expect to get around 1p per point with other schemes such as Avios and even gift cards would get 0.5p).
However, the situation does appear to have changed slightly. Whilst the Emirates page highlights the dynamic nature of easyJet pricing, comparing some similar options in 2025 demonstrates that it may now be possible to get closer to 0.5p per point which – whilst definitely not the best value option – may be slightly more worthy of consideration depending on your circumstances and options.
In the example below, the flight from Bristol to Faro is priced at 26,228 Skywards miles or £133.71. This would give you a return of just over 0.5p per Amex points – making the 20,000 American Express Gold Rewards card bonus (which can be increased if you apply with a referral link) worth about £100.

Note that, as with direct bookings, easyJet bookings via Skywards do not include luggage or seat selection (but these can be added). I also noted that easyJet sale prices didn’t appear to be reflected in the points cost – therefore the actual value of a points booking could be much lower for these.
Should you use American Express points to book an easyJet flight?
Using Amex points for easyJet flights might make sense if:
– You fly easyJet regularly from your local airport.
and
– You’re not able to, or interested in, redeeming for other higher value travel options – for example using Avios with British Airways.
or
You were considering other cash like redemptions with your Amex points, such as gift cards or statement credit.
But if you want to maximise the value of your Amex points, easyJet isn’t the best option. Avios or Virgin transfers (or even hotel redemptions via Hilton, Marriott, etc.) will almost always beat it.
Perhaps, the key test here should be whether you’re getting at least as good value as you would for a statement credit (0.45p per point). If you’re getting less than 0.45p, then you should instead consider booking directly with easyJet using your American Express Rewards card and then just selecting to use your points as a statement credit against this (using the option shown below). So, in the example above 29,700 points could be applied as a statement credit to cover a £133 transaction. The other thing to factor in here, is that a flight purchased on the American Express Gold Rewards card for example, will be covered via the card’s Travel Inconvenience insurance, whereas one booked with points won’t be. If this has value for you, then if the points value is marginal, again a statement credit might be a better option.

How does it compare?
Here’s a quick look at how easyJet redemptions might stack up against other common Amex uses in the UK:
| Option | Typical Value per Point | Example |
|---|---|---|
| easyJet via Emirates Skywards | ~0.45p–0.5p | £100 easyJet fare ≈ 20k–22k points |
| Pay with Points (statement credit) | ~0.4p–0.45p | £100 Amex charge ≈ 22k–25k points |
| Avios (British Airways / Iberia / Qatar) | ~0.8p–1p (more in premium cabins) | BA Club Europe flight worth £250 ≈ 25k points |
| Virgin Points (Upper Class sweet spots) | ~1p+ (up to 2p in premium) | Upper Class return worth £1,500 ≈ 75k points |
| Hotel partners (Hilton, Marriott, Radisson) | ~0.5p–0.8p | £150 hotel night ≈ 20k–30k points |
Final Thoughts
Value for easyJet redemptions via Emirates Skywards has improved – now around 0.45–0.5p per point, compared to just 0.25p in the past.
However it’s still subpar compared to almost all other airline (and most hotel) transfers – Avios or Virgin are better if you’re chasing maximum value.
If you’re comparing to gift cards or statement credit, then check you are at least getting 0.45p per point (any lower and you could just book via your card and take a statement credit).
👉 In short: You can use Amex points for easyJet flights, and the maths looks a bit better in 2025. But unless convenience is your top priority, there are usually smarter ways to spend your points.
