Limited Time UK Amex Offer

American Express have temporarily increased the bonus on the Gold Preferred Rewards Credit Card to 20,000 Membership Reward points. The current offer is being advertised as valid until 29th June 2020. If you haven’t held an American Express card in the past 24 months, and spend £3,000 in the first 3 months, you’ll receive a bonus of 20,000 Amex points. This will likely increase to 22,000 points if you use a referral link.

If you’ve been considering the Amex Gold card, then now is the time to apply.

The bonus was reduced to 10,000 points a while ago. It’s possible that the economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic have prompted Amex to offer additional incentives to attract new customers. I’d imagine fewer people are worrying about applying for rewards cards, or considering the benefits of using points for travel, at the moment.
